Attorney Profiles

Priya Sinha Cloutier works with inventors, artists, and businesses to create and protect intellectual property. She is a Patent Attorney and an experienced litigator. Priya believes in preventative law because it is the most effective way to save time and money.

Priya earned her BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1990. She graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 1997 with her J.D.

Priya began her practice with Connecticut Legal Services where she was a tireless advocate for her clients, from solving individual problems to protecting the rights of multiple persons by litigating class actions or pursuing relief in other forums such as administrative agencies and the legislature. Priya brings the same tenacity and skill to her private practice.

Priya has extensive case handling experience in State and Federal courts and administrative forums. She also has experience advocating for policy changes in administrative rulemaking proceedings and in the Connecticut legislature, drafting proposals and reviewing proposed legislation and regulations, and providing comments and testifying before legislative committees and agency policy decision-makers.

Priya has done graduate work in engineering at the Idaho State University and in mathematics at the University of Connecticut. Her work experience at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Idaho National Engineering Laboratory and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation provides extensive experience in electrical, mechanical, and safety systems, as well as reliability engineering.

In her free time, Priya and her husband and two boys are happily settled in Edmonds. Priya's husband has served over 20 years with the US Navy and is stationed in Everett. Priya also enjoys power lifting and running; she tries to get to a few competitions a year.
